The Nissan NP300 represents the 16th generation of the popular Hardbody, which has established itself as a tried and trusted name in the Kenyan pick-up segment. In the NP300 name the ‘N’ stands for Nissan and the ‘P’ for Pickup, while the ‘300’ is the series number in the commercial line-up. The Nissan NP300 Hardbody range is available in two configurations: Workhorse and Hi-Rider available in Single Cab and Double Cab derivatives.

Design
A uniform front design is visible on all models across the range. The design consists of Nissan’s signature front grille design, with a centrally positioned logo, large headlights and a bold front bumper. The ‘S’ models feature 15-inch wheels, differential lock and tubular rear bumper as standard equipment. The ‘SE’ models incorporate driver and passenger airbags, air conditioner, differential lock and tubular rear bumper as standard fitment. All Hi-Rider models feature body colour over fenders and colour coded front bumpers.

Power
Under the bonnet is a choice of three diesel power units. The smallest and most powerful power unit is a 2.5-litre common rail unit producing 98kW (131hp) at 3 600rpm and 304Nm at 2 000rpm. Next is a 2.7-litre diesel unit with 64kW (86hp) and 178Nm of torque. The largest power unit in has a 3.2 litres and churns out 76kW (102 hp) and 215Nm of torque. Paired with all engines is a 5-speed manual transmission. The Nissan NP300 Hardbody rides on a front independent, double wishbone torsion bar suspension and solid axle with multi-leaf springs located at the rear. The Nissan NP300 Hardbody is available with a 2-Wheel or 4-Wheel Drive.

Interior
The specification of the NP300 Hardbody range is enhanced thanks to features that offer benefits and further enhance the overall value for money prospect of the package. Air conditioning is fitted as a standard feature on certain models in the workhorse line-up.
Further interior enhancements, on the entire workhorse range, include a well designed dashboard layout, durable roof lining, vinyl floor covering, a four spoke steering wheel, door panel storage pockets and warning lamps for water, fuel and temperature. Safety
Safety features are increasingly sought after in the pick-up market. Certain models feature driver and passenger airbags as standard safety equipment. Halogen headlamps and side headlamp reflectors are now available on the entire workhorse line-up. All Nissan NP300 HardbodyHi-Rider models are equipped with collapsible steering columns, side impact protections bars, integrated front crumple zones and integrated nudge bars and roll bar. A steel reinforced ladder frame chassis provides additional strength while side door intrusion bars add further protection to occupants in the event of an accident.
